about us

Samir Abbass as the founder and chief guide of Real Fayoum and REAL EGYPT started his exploration trips in the desert around Fayoum Oasis, collecting data and finding attractions to put together as a route map for his tours. Attractions of different types, Natural, Historical, geological, cultures, etc with a view to a future of ECO TOURISM.

After launching many tours in the area, Real Fayoum quickly realized that training Tour Guides and drivers in off-road driving and navigation in the desert were the way forward. To accommodate the increasing no of requests of people that want to tour and explore the area

Following Egypt’s revolution and lack of security in many places in Egypt, Fayoum remained a safe place mainly because of its local tribes who decided to take the initiative and secure their territories, as a result, Fayoum didn’t suffer during the tourism decline in Egypt. vast open desert, freedom to breathe.

The Egyptian government has invested large sums of money in the North Qaroun lake area and plan to create a beautiful open-air museum, explaining the geological and natural history of Egypt.Real Fayoum continues to expand and discover new areas

Real Fayoum is continuing to expand and grow into eco-tourism sustainable travel in Fayoum and Egypt. Discovering authentic desert adventures; their hidden attractions, locally and worldwide to get more people familiar with the advantages and uniqueness of this area by launching a website (https://www.realfayoum.com) and a marketing campaign dedicated to this area, please help us by spreading the news about Fayoum.

Al Fayyum

The trip was so spectacular, and it was full of fun. The whale’s Valley and petrified forest are about 40 million years old! The sand boarding was a new experience to us. The view by the magic lake was spectacular.

El Fayoum is so perfect and has so many hidden beauties. It held many activities to perform. It is safe and I would totally recomend this trip.

Extraordinary trip

For me, once you visited the main magnificent structures of Egypt, there’s nothing better than taking a trip to the desert. If you want to get a feel of the culture, natural beauty, and outlying relics of Egypt, this is a must do. I went camping with Samir of Real Egypt to the Fayoum. We were in petrified forests, ancient sea beds with fossilized animal bones neatly decorating the desert floor, petrified roads built for hauling pyramid building materials, fascinating rock formations, ancient temples, and much more. Even better though, were the laughs, camaraderie, and fun we had, as we trekked through the desert with our so knowledgable and professional guide, Samir, and our fantastic driver, who doubled as a chef and all-around great guy. Did I mention, the wonder of camping under the brilliant stars in the cloak of darkness with a neatly lit fire?
Just a fantastic trip!

Fayoum

Amazing one day trip. Perfect way to see a little more of Egypt without taking away too much time from your holiday. We were a group of 4 friends and only in Cairo for 3 days. We used one day to visit Fayoum with Real Egypt Tours. They tailor made our trip to fit our wishes and time. We stopped for traditional tea in a small Bedouin camp with beautiful views over the lake, rode sand dunes in the jeep and sandboarded before sharing a picnic lunch. Perfect way to see a little more of Egypt and do something a little different away from the city. Ahmed (our guide) is fab, very knowledgable, he can’t do enough for his guests and his passion for Egypt and its history is inspiring. I’ve used Real Egypt Tours 3 times now for various tours because they are so good at what they do. Highly recommended.

Get out of the city to see a little more

school holidays and teenagers, what can you do with them? well, a desert with a water fall ,fossilized whale bones and petrified trees sounded like the right choice, add to that sandboarding down the dunes and a swim in the lake, teenage paradise!!!

Having used Real Egypt for our family tour of Luxor, Dahabiya cruise and Aswan we knew the Real Egypt team would not let us down! After contacting Samir and Adele, they introduced us to the new member of the Family” Real Fayoum” Tours, swiftly set us an itinerary that would keep 6 kids happy during the 12 hours and arranged everything at quick notice, we only gave 12 hours notice – no time for kids to change their minds!
7am
Hotel Pick up (4×4 car). Ancient Basalt Quarry. The ancient Pharaonic road. The petrified forest. Qasr El Sagha temple. Demi El Seba ancient city ruins. Picnic Lunch. Lake Fayoum. Magic Lake. El Rayan waterfalls. Sandboarding. Swimming in the lake. Lunch. Tunis Village. Drive back to Cairo

The tour surpassed every milestone, we were picked up on time at 7am by our driver and guide for the day – Samir, and off we went, Samir pointed out all the new wonders along the way as we drove through Cairo- The new GEM museum,( it has to be said you will need a full weeks holiday to tour the place) Giza pyramids in all there daylight glory, different parts of Cairo, then we hit Fayoum Governorate, driving through the toll to enter Fayoum is like entering another world, almost unbelievable that it is only 1.5 hours away from the busy streets of Cairo, tranquil is not the word, the feeling of peace just washes over you as you look out at the vast emptiness all around you,

the peace was quickly broken however when we went off roading across the desert with squeals of delight from all 6 kids, sand dunes turned into miles and miles as we zoomed across the plain( always wanted to say that) , we stopped at Bones, yes bones out in the middle of the desert, full skeletons of long ago forgotten animals, the area has so much to offer but after a short rest we were off again, this time to temple ruins in the middle of no where, a full city, where did these people gets water from, supplies, food, it is just like a hollywood film set, all that was missing was Russell crowe in his gladiator uniform ,

lunch was beautiful on the shores of the lake just listening to the wind and watching the water,

then off for sandboarding and swimming, not to mention a couple of massive sand dunes that Samir decided to drive us up, we all loved it and appreciated it when the car stopped, sand boarding, great fun for all, the day just graciously slips away to the shouts and whoops of laughter across the desert from every person involved,

after that a wonderfully refreshing swim in the lake and a trip around the lake to see the most amazing waterfall, will stay in my memory for a long time,

to round off a wonderful day tour we took a drive through to tunis village, a quaint little place designed like Spanish villas home to some of the best pottery schools around, we had a quick pottery lesson by a very skilled artist ,

I have to say Real Fayoum gave us a fantastic tour, not one of the kids moaned they were bored or even picked their phones up, well done Real Fayoum, 5 Star treatment every inch of the way ,

wow! what a day!
